Happy New Year 2021

As we draw to the end of a historic year, it seems only appropriate that we join together and celebrate. Of course to bring in the New Year and welcome 2021 which should reflect on the incredulous year of 2020. A year as heart pumping as it was heart-stopping, a year that seemed more remarkable as each day ticked over, a year which seemed to be like no other.

With hope and change in the air, it’s time to take charge and bring in the new year! We asked around for the top changes people are making to get the most out of 2021. So sit back, relax and perhaps one of these suggestions may take your fancy that you might add it to those blessed New Years’ resolutions lists!

1. More Balance

2020 gave us the opportunity to slow down. As much of the nation and world experienced restrictions due to the pandemic there was more time to consider what was important in life, as well as what was not so important. Perhaps you found that working long hours with little time for true and authentic connection with friends and family actually did not serve you; perhaps you found a new passion in cooking and online study; the possibilities are endless! With work being at home and the home being at work, it was through trial and error that many of us learned the ‘work-life’ balance. We are still learning but it feels a lot better than it did.

2. More Sunshine / Greyshine / Moonshine

Having spent a lotand we mean A LOT of time inside,it seems only fitting that many of us are craving the outdoors. Whether it’s rain, hail or shine so long as we are outdoors, it will be ok! Long park walks, hiking through national parksand picnic in the local park are like the new cafe that has openedand everyone wants a seat! Consider one of our hampers for your outdoor exploration and relaxation today!

3. Spending Time With Loved Ones

Unable to move freely, the idea of absence makes the heart grow fonder appeared to be a running theme for many. With families divided across state lines, weddings, parties and funerals all affected the true value of spending time with loved ones has become more sacred. No longer taking that time for granted we have learned through the hardship of 2020 to cherish this time and shower our loved ones. Luckily, Gourmet Basket did not stop sending gift hampers to families all across Australia.

4. Gratitude

No longer taking anything for granted we all seemed to have developed a new appreciation for the simple things like going to the supermarket as much as we want, going to the local cinema or meeting friends for dinner. It’s the little things that make all the difference and we are grateful for them all – the good and the bad!

The world has changed and so have we, let us welcome the new year with joy and excitement. We wish all our customers at Gourmet Basket a Happy New Year. Stay safe and see you in 2021!
